It’s that time of year. The Oscars, and the awards season. Everyone looks back at their favourite films of the year. Maybe this is because I’m a mad film junkie, my year doesn’t begin until The Oscars are over because I’m looking over last year so much. Crazy, I know. Just thought I’d share this great video with you guys. It really reminds me of what a great year I’ve had and how I love cinema. Bring on 2012!

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo: US Version – Discussion

So this is probably a really, really off topic post and one that wouldn’t be expected but part of the point of this blog is that I can talk about what I want to or write about what I think is interesting. This post is a discussion about the US remake of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I check IMDb every day and on the homepage I found some new stills for The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

Before I begin pointing out the stuff that sparked this post I want to say that I love the Millennium series. I’ve read all three books and seen all three movies and I love reading Scandinavian crime fiction (Jo Nesbo, Henning Mankell, Camilla Lackberg). It’s not the only thing that I read but I’m not going to lie, I really enjoy it. The books were superb, gritty and damn well written novels. There was a lot of depth to his story that you don’t see in a lot of crime fiction. The films weren’t as good apart from the first which was a fine thriller. The next two weren’t nearly as good but still enjoyable.
